Scooter Rally, Cleethorpes 2016. (Set 2 of 3).

No day out is complete 'til I've got a "dog pic"!

These two were entertaining everyone from the roof of a pub.

Willingham Lakes.

Yesterday I accompanied my wife Carole to a painting day organized by her Art Group, Suzi came too of course!

It was at Willingham lakes, part of Willingham Woods in Lincolnshire.  While Carole and the others were painting Suzi and I went off taking photographs.

The lakes are very shallow, only a few inches in places but about 12 inches in others.
They are full of fish but fishing has never been allowed on the lakes, and that's how it
should be as it's a conservation area and a popular picnic spot.

The bankside is full of wild flowers and out on the water are huge areas of wild water lilies.

This flower intrigued me; it had obviously been forced over to the horizontal position but, as
nature does, it recovered by simply doing a U-Turn at it's tip to continue reaching for the sun!

A few artists from the painting group.

Feeding ducks.

And so, after a lovely day, I followed this lady with her dog back to the car park.

Scooter Rally, Cleethorpes 2016. (Set 1 of 3).

For one weekend each year hundreds of scooter enthusiasts descend on Cleethorpes for a rally.  It's always a colourful and very friendly
gathering.

Scooter fans were known as "mods" and Quadrophenia is a music album by The Who, the
favourite band of the Mods.

Regardless of the event or situation, if dogs are around I have to photograph them.

Kingston Upon Hull, some miscelaneous views.

The centre of Hull is undergoing extensive road improvements.

A lot of the older buildings have very ornate decorations and architectural features.

This boxing academy is where Luke Cambell trained.  Luke won the Gold medal in
the Bantamweight division at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The building that this was on is fairly plain but this feature stood out.

Kingston Upon Hull, shopping arcade and cuddly characters.

Further images from our recent trip over the border into Yorkshire.

A lovely old Victorian shopping arcade.  The two policemen
came over to ask why we were photographing but they were
ok when we explained.  Even posed for a portrait.

A Teddy Bear shop selling the world famous Steiff bears.

The centre of Hull is undergoing major road improvement work ahead of next year
when it becomes Britain's "City of Culture".

Hull has undergone a lot of modernization with new shopping malls etc. but is still known
for it's old Victorian buildings and statues.  There are statues everywhere.

Perhaps some men in Hull don't aim too well?

The Steiff Bears might be cuddly but this was the star of the day for me.
