December 31st 2017. Happy New Year to all lincolnshirecam viewers.

Another drive out into the Lincolnshire Wolds, the weather was bright but not sunny.
A view over the Wolds from above Wold Newton looking toward the area around Binbrook and an inquisitive sheep at North Ormsby.

North Thoresby Village.

I visited North Thoresby back in the summer when they held a 1940's weekend.  These pictures were taken today (30th Dec 2017) when I re-visited the village.

North Thoresby is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated between Louth and Grimsby, approximately 7.5 miles (12 km) from each, and has a village population of 1,068 (2011) with 50.5% of the population being over 60.

The above info courtesy of Wikipedia.

The Village Square, mainly deserted today.

I took this at the Square back in the summer 1940's event, nice to look back on.

St. Helens Church.

Previously a Mapletoft Schoolhouse, now a private residence.

Not sure if this is demolition or renovation.

This cottage on the edge of the Square was badly damaged many years ago but, thanks to
the villagers, it was fully restored.

Most English villages have a Methodist Chapel, some are still in use.  Others are
closed and often derelict but this one at North Thoresby is beautifully maintained
and still in use.

Looking back from the Methodist Chapel toward the centre of the village
and the Village Square.

Christmas at Doddington Hall. (Set 3 of3).

Each year Doddington Hall in Lincolnshire is decorated for Christmas and this year the theme is Alice in Wonderland.
A book written by Lewis Carroll.

An enchanted forest with Flamingos on a lake.
In Lewis Carroll's book Flamingos were used as croquet mallets!

In this room we find "The Hookah-Smoking Caterpillar".  in the book the caterpillar was
rude to Alice and asked her lots of questions.

Passing on the landing, another view of the Dodo.

Back into the dining room on our way out,  some paper sculptures and items on the table.

This paper sculpture refers to The Mad Hatter.

A last view of "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party"
