The problem areas are where the rivers are, the Lincolnshire Wolds & hills are not like the Pennines but they collect an enormous amount of water which finds it's way down to the towns via the rivers and streams. Places like Boston, Lincoln & Louth can often be flooded. But rarely us on the north east coast of Lincolnshire, at least not from heavy rain.
We start to worry when a high winter tide combines with low pressure and gales from the north east which cause a tidal surge. The last one was in December 2013 when Hull and surrounding areas where flooded. I have to smile when I hear people saying that global warming is exagerated, floods, tidal surges & excessive gales are common place now.
Thanks for your concern but,.on this occasion, we're ok. 😀David Bennetthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15624125733408030479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4439390942072958404.post-70523418911988639402019-06-14T15:41:12.899+01:002019-06-14T15:41:12.899+01:00Just heard that there are floods in your area (Fri...Just heard that there are floods in your area (Fri) - hope all is okay where you are.Mike Perryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02149847109691591945noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4439390942072958404.post-79970935422557248292019-06-13T12:57:50.393+01:002019-06-13T12:57:50.393+01:00What great photos! Well done! The central US has been hammered by rains and floods all spring, making this the rainiest May in 125 years. It sure does get old, so I'm looking forward to sunshine. Great post, David! You are very creative.Ann B. Kennedyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16263483730433027795noreply@blogger.com
