Ive taken the plunge.

I've been putting off having my cataracts removed for quite a while but decided at my last eye test to get them done, that was last December.  Well, the months have rolled by and the time came for my 1st eye to be done yesterday.  "Nothing to it" folk told me, and they were right, it went easily and painlessly.  Today though my "new" eye is a bit cloudy but I'm assured it will clear quickly.  I'm  amazed how bright and colourful the world is, even through this soft focus effect Im experiencing now.  Can't wait to get the other eye done now.

I intended to post a few more recent pics but Im finding it too difficult on my PC while this one eye is cloudy, so I done this on my phone while sat outside in the shade.  I put a mobile phone pic here of Popcorn.

  1. I’m so delighted that I kept scrolling to find this current post! Popcorn looks very regal and comfortable posing for a quick photo. I am thrilled to learn that you’ve had the first surgery and that you are seeing your beautiful colorful world more clearly now. Well done. I hope the cloudiness passes quickly and I’ve heard that it does. David, I’ve been wondering if you still attend your camera club or if it still exists. Just curious. Enjoy the next days as your eye heals. I hope your weather will be good this week. All my best. Ann

    1. So nice to hear from you Ann, twice in one day too. Yes, I still attend Cleethorpes Camera Club. And so does Popcorn! Now I'm on mybown they let him accompany me. He really enjoys it and of course he's a star there! My eye has started to slowly clear so I'm pleased I took the plunge and got the ball rolling.
Take care Ann, David and Popcorn

  2. Congratulations, David! Join the club! I had my cataracts done in 2010 and have always been very pleased I had it done. Life will suddenly look much brighter once your eye had healed fully and getting the other one done will just complete the picture, so to speak. I do hope you're getting some nice weather now you mention sitting in the garden. Popcorn looks positively regal! Wishing you a speedy recovery, David, and I'm sorry I'm late here again. Life is, as you know, always busy, but I always enjoy your posts.

    1. My eye took a while to recover but is now startlingly clear. David Attenborough made a TV series called "The Blue Planet". When my eye cleared, I can now see the blue planet, and its beautiful. Before that the sky was Cyan, I didn't know that of course but I can still see the Cyan sky with the eye that's yet to be cleared. And I can't wait
