Cleethorpes Town Hall.

 "Cleethorpes Town Hall is a municipal structure in Knoll Street, Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England. The town hall, which was the headquarters of Cleethorpes Borough Council, is a Grade II listed building.

The new building was designed by Herbert Scaping in the Baroque style, built in red brick with stone dressings by Henry Marrows and was opened in 1905."

The Town Hall was used for Council business and administration until 1987 when new premises were built on adjacent land next door.   The old Town Hall is now used for functions and weddings.

This will be my last post this year, Happy Christmas to all who view my blog and Best Wishes for the coming year.  After the last two years, who knows what the future has in store?

A misty morning at Cleethorpes.

We took Suzi for a walk along our promenade at Cleethorpes on quite a misty day.  The tide was up and local people were out enjoying a rare day without any wind, some were on the water Paddle Boarding.  This is a relatively new activity to Cleethorpes.

Paddle boarders out on the water.  You have to wade a long way out to get any depth here.

These buoy markers are to mark the safe swimming areas, water skiers aren't allowed here.

On the left is "Brighton Slipway" where the RNLI Inshore Lifeboat is launched from.
The lady there was taking a photo on her 'phone.

The tide is gently coming in and lapping over the boardwalk.

Wading birds are here most of the year but large number are now arriving from the Arctic.

A family of swans arrived, I'm always surprised to see Swans on saltwater, but we do see
quite a few from time to time.  I decided to photograph them as they approached me.

The swans decided I had nothing for them and soon left.

The mist lifted briefly to allow a colourful view of our Pier, I preferred the mist.

A last look along the promenade toward our Leisure centre before we headed home.

I've said before that I prefer our town in the off season, we get it to ourselves and can enjoy leisurely walks along the promenade or beach.

Buildings around Cleethorpes area.

 Cleethorpes has a variety of buildings of different ages and styles.  Here are just a few I've recently photographed.

This row of houses with preserved double bay windows is in Bradford Avenue
A Preservation order protects them from any changes.

A street close to the seafront, but away from the crowds, has brightly painted houses.

I've featured "The Fisherman's Arms" before on this blog.

A delivery outside the pub.

This house was a fisherman's cottage in the 19th century and is the oldest dwelling 
in Cleethorpes.

A pair of old Lincolnshire cottages (Built in the "Longhouse Style")
that would once have been out in the countryside.
Now a busy road runs past them.

 A few photo's from a walk along Cleethorpes seafront.

Some hardy people enjoying the beach on a chilly October afternoon.

The tide goes a long way out at Cleethorpes but I prefer low tide for taking photo's
as it's has more interest.

Local people and dog walkers enjoying a peaceful afternoon.  The building in the B/G
is our Leisure Centre.

Cleethorpes is on the east coast of England, just inside the Humber Estuary. 

The mouth of the Estuary can be seen on the horizon with Spurn Point Lighthouse 

and a WW1 Fort to the right.  Beyond that is the North Sea.

Although there were a few people out we still kept our distance.

The Pier in the distance and the rides and amusements that our visitors enjoy.

And finally, I looked over the railing onto the beach to see this happy local looking at me.

A few local Autumn pictures.

Just a few pictures taken in our garden and some  locally, a hundred yards from our house, on a misty morning.

This is our "Smoke Bush" with Autumn red leaves.
