Doddington Hall Sculpture Exhibition 2016. (Set 3 of 5)

I'm fairly sure this exhibit was in the previous exhibition but it's very pleasing to see again.

This is the last of the pictures taken on my Olympus Camera.  the final 2 sets were taken on

my Panasonic camera.

A few pictures from the 1940's weekend at the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.

The weather wasn't too good and I only had an hour to spend but I got a few images.

I kicked off with my customary "doggy picture".  This dog had spent the night, with it's lady

owner, in the back of this estate car.

"For you, the war is over".

The re-enactor is pointing to a sign depicting where his friend's father was posted in WW2.

"Don't tell him Pike"!

Is this The Siegfried  Line?

"We're Going to Hang out the Washing on the Siegfried Line" is a popular song by Ulster songwriter Jimmy Kennedy, written whilst he was a Captain in the British Expeditionary Force during the early stages of the Second World War, with music by Michael Carr.[1] The Siegfried Line was a chain of fortifications along Germany's Western border, analogous to the Maginot Line in France. The song was used as a morale-booster during the war, particularly up to and during the Battle of France.[citation needed]
It began:
We're going to hang out the washing on the Siegfried Line.
Have you any dirty washing, mother dear?

The Humber Bridge.

The bridge spans the Humber Estuary from Barton Upon Humber on the south (Lincolnshire) side to Hessle on the north bank which is in Yorkshire.  When opened it held the record for the longest single span in the world.

We go there quite often to walk our dog.

This inlet is Barton Creek which runs inland and has a boat building & repair yard alongside.

No sculptures in this bit, I just loved this corner of the gardens.

One of my favourite pieces.

Another one I liked.

My wife's favourite exhibit, they were so lifelike.

Although a bit modernistic I did like this exhibit.

This is Lancelot "Capability" Brown.  The celebrated 18th

century English landscape gardener. He got the knick name

"Capability" because of him telling potential clients that their

gardens, or grand estates, had great "capabilities".

A detailed look at "Capability", he's maybe sizing up the grounds of Doddington Hall to 

determine if they have "capabilities"!
