Out & about again.

I took these photo's back in August, a few weeks before my operation.

A few images from a short drive out.

The Tilted Barrel public house in Waltham village.

It always has a splendid show of hanging baskets.

Waltham Windmill.  One of only a few 6 sailed mills remaining  in
the country.

An old railway carriage, converted to an ice cream shop.

At the windmill site is a miniature railway run by the Grimsby & District
Model Engineering Society.

  1. I don't know how I have never visited Lincolnshire, looking at your photos, it is somewhere I am sure my wife and I would enjoy. Good to see the windmill, they always fascinate me but, at the same time, I find them a little scary for some reason. Take care ~ Mike.

  2. The windmill is in full working order and my son & I had a tour inside on all the floors a few years ago. Fascinating to see the huge cogwheel and millstones turning. Thanks Mike.

  3. More delightful spots, David. The ice cream carriage is charming and that windmill looks in perfect order. What a lovely day you had for your outing too. I do like the way old railways and station buildings are being reused these days. It’s lovely to see them restored rather than demolished for something new and unlovely to take their place.
