Cleethorpes 1940s Weekend. Winston Churchill.

This "Winston Churchill" lookalike was at the event.

He recited one of Winston's famous Wartime speeches.

During the speech a Spitfire flew over.

Tealby Thorpe, another visit.

We visited Tealby Thorpe back in May so last week had another drive there.  Tealby Thorpe is just a small hamlet set out of the way in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

A view over The Wolds from the lane leading to Tealby Thorpe.

The stream running through the hamlet is a ford allowing vehicles to reach the main
road which runs through to the larger village of Tealby.  It's too deep these days for anything
other than farm vehicles or brave 4X4 drivers.
Many years ago I drove along it in my Mk1 Ford Cortina but was very pleased when I reached
the far end without a mishap!

The house on the right is the old mill which operated by the water wheel under the archway.

The church in the distance is the Parish Church of Tealby in the main village.
