Another set of abstract images taken during the recent restrictions.

The new "Blogger" interface.

I've started trying out the new version of blogger so this post is a trial first attempt to get used to the changes.

I've used an image of my Suzi in reflective mood + my son's two Bedlington Terriers which is my son's image taken on his mobile phone.

My 1st impression of the newer "blogger" is favourable, once I get used to things being in different places.

"Another chance to see......." a few Lincolnshire views.

Having had a few viewings of my previous (recycled) post, and also some encouraging words from a blog friend, here's another post from the early days of my blog.


A picture from the early days of this blog.

Boats berthed at Saltfleet Haven, a small river on the Lincolnshire coast North of mablethorpe.  The waterway has become badly silted up over the years but was once a thriving location for local fishermen fishing out in the North Sea.

"The Last Post"? Maybe.

Thimbleby Village.

I'm finding it harder by the day to get new pictures to post.  I started the blog in 2013 and the very first post, on the 30th of January was of a little known village in Lincolnshire called Thimbleby.  

So, hoping no-one has been a viewer of this blog since day one, (but if there are any then thank you very much), I've copied and repeated the post here.  As the BBC often say, this is "an opportunity to see it again"!  

(If this is received fairly well I may repeat the excercise.)

Main street.

The attractive little village of Thimbleby is situated close to the Market town of Horncastle in the Lincolnshire Wolds.  It is a short drive off the A158 Horncastle to Wragby road on the B1190.

The thatched and period cottages are along the main street through the village, well worth a visit.  I took these pictures during the summer of 2012.

Looking down the main street towards the church.  The church has major structural problems and is off limits to the general public.

Deserted Cleethorpes Beach (?).

The UK government has changed the "Lockdown" restrictions to allow travel, anywhere in England, for people to go somewhere for exercise.  Travel can only be for the one day but Social Distancing must still be exercised.
I took these pictures in a previous year on a very pleasant February day, to show our beach, devoid of visitors and how we like to use it in the winter.  During the lockdown this is how it's been, but now visitors are flocking in again!

"Extreme Pics" from the archives.

Still unable to go beyond the confines of our home, I've revisited my archives for a few pics to make a blog post.

The Corona Virus lockdown seems very extreme so I collected a few "Extreme Pics" from visits to the Lincoln Steam Punk "Asylum Weekends".

This lady is a regular visitor to Steam Punk gatherings, Amy, Elizabeth Smith.

No-one will be surprised to see I found an "extreme" dog.

I'm told this is a "plague mask".  Very topical during these "extreme" times.

Coloured contact lenses have become popular.

This lady had some extremely interesting make up.

A very friendly person, extreme eye lashes.

This young lady wasn't "extreme" at all, just extremely happy & pleasant.

Now this is "extreme"!

"Extreme" & downright scary!

Of all the Steam Punk characters I've photographed, if I had

to choose a favourite this young lady would be high on my list.

Nothing extreme or scary about her, just extremely jolly with

a great smile.

Some new pics from the "Lockdown".

I may need to take another look in my archives for blog posts soon but in the meantime, I've scraped together an eclectic mix of images from an afternoon in my garage & garden.

Sat in my garage on a rare hot day (well, 21 degrees is quite warm for May) listening to the

radio, I looked around for items to photograph.  This is a mix of (VERY) odd subjects but

illustrates how boring the lockdown is now becoming.

Boredom has been replaced by desperation now, didn't realise how old my hands look!

Suzi encouraged me to come into the garden.

Peonies, Pansies & Pegs + something a bit "Fishy"!

The Covid 19 lockdown continues so I'm restricted to photographing in my garden, not such a bad thing though.  The Poppies have started flowering, as have the Peonies and the pegs(?)  Well they're a permanent fixture.

I posted this a short while ago but managed to revert it to "draft"

 Don't know how but here it is again.

We have Welsh Poppies all over our garden, starting from a single

packet of seed many years ago and then years of self sowing.  I'm a 

lot to blame as I gather the seed each year and scatter it everywhere.

A small percentage of the poppies produce these yellow flowers which we love.

Don't know what this tiny plant is, we bought one in a small pot from the garden centre

many years ago and were told it would also self seed very freely.  Well the original plant

disappeared but, as predicted, it's left its seed in paving everywhere, and we love it too.  

The first Peony of this year, almost open.

We bought this plant last summer and thought it had died over winter but here it is again.

I have a fisheye lens on loan from number one son Michael.  I got it to try before the "lockdown" so, as we can't go out or be visited, it's mine for the duration!

Ok, I can only use it in the home & garden, so here are a few pics from it.

These pics were taken about 2 inches away from the point of focus, very strange but the wide angle of view creates interesting pictures.

Taken from just inside our dining room.

Slightly outside the patio doors, the whole garden is in view, including our house

back wall with hose reel!  This fish eye lens is a lot of fun!
