Ravendale Valley, Day One.

 On a rare sunny day in March, popcorn & I had a walk through Ravendale Valley.  It's situated at East Ravendale.

"East Ravendale is a small village and civil parish in North East Lincolnshire, England. It is situated 6 miles (9.7 km) south-south-west from Grimsby, and 0.5 miles (0.8 km) west from the A18"

We took our time walking through the valley and I kept stopping to take these photographs, after a while I decided to go back to the car and return on the next sunny day to complete the walk.  The first part of our walk is set in a wide area between rolling hills.

We passed a few Yews in a paddock.

As far as I could see, no lambs in with them.

This limestone quarry has been closed and abandoned for many years.  I can remember 
cycling out here when I was a kid and it was closed then.

I popped in to look around.

Continuing along the lane.

This field often does have sheep and lambs but not on our visit.

The winding road disappears into the distance and a couple I had spoken to walk their dog.

More old farm machinery, a handy thing to fasten Popcorn to while I took some pics.

This is where the road goes into the steeply sided valley in the distance.  The fields curve
around either side here.

A cattle grid and gate mark the start of the valley.  This where I decided to retrace our steps 
back to our car and return another day.

Popcorn enjoyed seeing these three dogs come past.

Back at our car, a last look back along the road.  
My intension was to return on the next sunny morning to complete the walk 
from the cattle grid into the valley.

Evening at Cleethorpes.

 Popcorn & I had a walk along Cleethorpes Promenade back in August 2023 and I took a few photo's as the light began to fade.

This amusement arcade is situated at the entrance to Cleethorpes pier.

Called "The Mint", possibly because it earns it's owners lots of money?

Folk coming away from the pier after a fish & Chip supper.

This is the busiest part of Cleethorpes seafront with lots of arcades, shops & amusements.

We met a couple of characters walking along.

I asked what they were doing, maybe promoting something?  But no, they're just two
local people who like to dress up and make people feel happy!

I didn't go into any arcades but took a few pics to give a flavour of what's inside.

I like to include people in my photo's but I think this young lad spotted me.

Heading back to the Pier area.

The Mermaid Café at the railway station, built in the Victorian days. 

A few hundred yards from the seafront is the old "Empire Theatre", now another place
of entertainments and arcade amusements.  I remember going to summer variety shows
here when I was a youngster.

The illuminations along the promenade.  These are modern LED versions of what we had
for many years.

One Misty, Moisty Morning.

 Inspired by the song of the same name by Steeleye Span, I took these photo's on a cold, foggy morning in February.

The first few pics taken at Haverstoe Park in Cleethorpes.

In the car park at the start of our walk.

Quite few dogs out for walks.

The next few pics where taken the same morning, along South Promenade, Cleethorpes.

Mainly Bed & Breakfast guest house along here plus some apartment blocks.

The tide was in, a couple enjoying a quiet walk.

Even on a cold February there were some hardy souls making sand castles.
Of course, they were residents, we're a hardy lot on the east coast!
