Early summer in my garden.

My previous post was of wild flowers in Lincolnshire.

My garden has a good display in the Spring but then goes quiet for a while.  Now though, the summer display is beginning to show, so this is a short selection.

Viewed from the house.

Wild flowers around Lincolnshire.

A few images of wild flowers along the verges and woodlands in our area of Lincolnshire.

Not quite flowers but these fresh Pine Cones were very attractive.

"Your Village needs You!"

Each summer the staff at the Waltham Fire Station hang planters outside their building and I usually photograph the display.  This year the doors have been painted with this impressive mural, hoping to attract and recruit new members to the fire & rescue service.

Sign of these times?

Many businesses have closed during this pandemic and Cleethorpes lost one of it's oldest shops in early June with the closure of "John Turner's" Butcher, Baker & Sandwich Maker.

I'm a vegetarian but was still saddened to see this old family firm close.

John Turner's shop in St. Peters Avenue, Cleethorpes.

The familiar "larger than life" figure of a butcher stood outside Turners for many years,
but now stands behind the permenently closed door.

An old delivery bike, standing over the shop front.

Ludborough.

A few pictures taken at Ludborough in Lincolnshire.

Ludborough is a village and Civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England.  5 miles north of Louth with a population of 191 people.

A view through gardens to St. Marys Church.

The village centre on the old road to Louth which was bypassed many years ago.

Thatched cottage, currently unoccupied.

A farmyard along a little lane.

The Liversey Arms, village pub.

The "obligatory" old plough outside the pub.
