The Cleethorpes Heritage Trail.

The Grimsby, Cleethorpes & District  Civic Society devised this Green Plaque Trail around the areas that were known as Oole & Itterby.  They were the two villages that eventually became known as Cleethorpes.
The trail shows many interesting buildings and areas of Cleethorpes, I have shown just a few of them here.

The old post office, once the main PO in Cleethorpes.

Plaque on the Old PO
This Baptist church was built on the site of an original church destroyed by zeppelin bomb attack during the 1stWW.

Wall plaque on the new Baptist Church.

No 16 Seaview Street, Cleethorpes.  Said to be the oldest shop  in Itterby.

This fisherman's cottage is the oldest dwelling in the resort.

Now  part of a shop, this was used as a hospital during WW2.

Station approach, Cleethorpes.  Leads down to the railway station and the sea.  The station clock
is a well known Cleethorpes landmark.
A more recent addition, the memorial to Lincoln Bomber Command.
