Tealby

Tealby Village

"Tealby is a village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England, situated on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and 3 miles (5 km) north-east from Market Rasen.

Tealby is noted for the Tennyson d'Eyncourt family which donated the village hall and school.[citation needed] In the 1980s the school was used for filming the programme Nanny.
In the early 2000s the village was granted permission  for a general shop to be built, now run by volunteers. The village post office was threatened with closure, however it remains open at certain times of the week.[citation needed] Tealby church, built using local orange-iron stone, is dedicated to All Saints and dates back to the 12th century; it holds memorials to the Tennyson d'Eyncourt family. Tealby residents included Bernie Taupin, who lived on Beck Hill.

These pictures taken around Christmas time.

The Lincolnshire Wolds have many lovely areas and places.

From the car park looking towards the village school.  That's the building with the bell tower.
There will be more, closer images of the school in the next posting.

The Viking Way,long distance footpath goes through the village.  Here it is leaving to
go up onto the Wolds.

As the footpath leaves the village it crosses
this ford.

Decorated for Christmas.

A shop in the village selling curios and gifts.

A strange name to this alleyway.

Looking up the main street, church in the background.

The village butchers Shop.
