On the edge of Cleethorpes.

I live very close to the edge of Cleethorpes, open farmland is only a few 100 yards from our house, "as the Crow flies".  We took our Suzi for a walk on the local farm where the crops are ready to be harvested.

The Italianate tower visible just right of centre is the "Dock Tower" which stands at the
entrance to Grimsby's Commercial & Fishdock and is a local landmark.

A cerial crop ready for harvest.  The old, almost dead tree, has stood in this field for as long
as I can remember.  It would be convenient and very easy to remove it, but the farmer chooses
to let it remain and work around it.

This lane goes to the farm.

The large, mown field is where Car Boot Fairs regularly take place in the summer.

Just after we'd left this Tractor & Baling machine arrived, I wasn't able to get back in time
to photograph it from the front so made do with this image of it heading for the farmyard.

  1. Lovely photos, with great skies. You are lucky to have such a walk so close to you - as is Suzi. I like the idea of leaving the old tree to decay naturally.
Hope you have a good week, hopefully should be some sunshine.
