I took these photo's way back in May this year.
Swinhope & Thorganby are two adjacent areas in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Only a few scattered houses in either of them.
A view down to the Binbrook road from Swinhope. |
Winding farm track in the valley. |
A house peeping out beyond the cereal crops and, of course, my favourite Cow Parsley. |
The weather was a bit "iffy" but did provide some drama and interesting skies. |
The little church down in the valley at Swinhope, I hope to visit it some time. |
The cottage that was peeping out in an earlier picture. |
At Thorganby these old farm buildings have been renovated and made into holiday cottages. |

Absolutely lovely, David. The Lincolnshire countryside has a glorious sweeping quality about it. I can't get enough of your photos. You have a knack for capturing the essence of what makes the area so rich.
ReplyDeletePS David, I'm having a bit of trouble with your feed. I only seem to see a post about All Saints Church, Thorgansby on my list, but it doesn't exist. Every time I try to delete your blog and add it again, it remains the same. I think I might miss some of your posts as a result, but I hope not.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment Val, I'm pleased you enjoyed it.
DeleteDon't worry about the missing church post, it was meant to follow this one but I published it first by mistake & had to quickly take it down again. It must have shown up on your feed. The church post follows this one soon. David.
I’ll look out for it. I nearly missed this one as a result, so I hope my feed sorts itself out when it’s published :)
DeleteLovely photos, I seem to have missed a few of your posts, will be back soon - my wife has had quite a few hospital appointments. Good wishes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, I know how hospital appointments can eat up spare time. David.
DeleteVery lush pictures, I can almost hear the grass and horse's tail swishing :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting Lulu, it's a lovely area of Lincolnshire. David.
