Stormy day in the Lincolnshire Wolds (Lincs. Wolds Rail)

We had a drive into the Wolds to walk our Suzi and have a packed lunch in the car.  (Still not venturing amongst people or shops).  The weather was variable!

We stopped off at a favourite location, the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway.  Closed, but I was able to access one platform.

  1. Wow! I have to say that these are some of my favorites. I’m not sure how to describe the first shot, but it has a very busy and almost animated look to it. The next shot is perfect with that deep sky, bits of red and the perfect shadow on the building. I love the close up view of the train shot and I find the last shot to be very interesting, almost as if the gate has been superimposed on the photo. All very well composed. Take care.

  2. Good to hear from you Ann. The conditions at the time were very strange eery and quiet. (Wizard of Oz springs to mind). I can honestly say I haven't "helped" the effect on Photoshop, a few minutes after getting back in our car the heavens opened!
    Thank you for commenting.

  3. Love the dark sky in 2, 5 and 6 photos. The rain must have bucketed down! Superb photos. David.

    1. Thanks Mike, yes it certainly rained just after I took these. But in no time the sun returned, just the sort of weather I like when out photographing, but not when I'm fishing! 😯
