My previous post was of All Saints Church at Saltfleetby. Across the road from the church is a fascinating display of preserved agricultural machinery. It's open to the public at certain times but I was allowed to go around to take a few photo's on a day closed to the public.

First of all, what a stunning sunrise you captured for your header! I’m behind in my reading, but I surely enjoyed the post about the church and found the interior photos fascinating. Imagine the life and death that church has seen in its lifetime. That magnificent plant is a Christmas cactus, very popular here but somewhat difficult to keep blooming. I’ve never been successful with them, so the one you found is quite spectacular. They typically bloom around Christmastime. I also appreciated your April photos, so cheerful and springlike during this time of the year when it can be so dark. Those cherry blossoms were stunning and I love your capture of the ladybugs!
ReplyDeleteThe best of all is seeing the great farm equipment. I’ve never seen such colorful machinery. There is a lot of old farm equipment left in farmyards and pastures here, but it is always rusty and devoid of color. This trend is very popular here, but I’ve always thought it would be fun to use brightly colored paint on them. Anyway, I think it is interesting that this display is in such close proximity to the church which I had envisioned in an area all to its own.
I’m glad I’ve had a moment to catch up and see your beautiful part of the world. Best wishes as always from Ann.
Hello Ann, so good to hear from you and I hope you're well.
DeleteI'm pleased you enjoyed the posts, the farming equipment was quite a collection.
My dog Popcorn goes everywhere with me and is very patient while I take my photo's. Do you still have your dog, I think his name was Axle?
Take care, David.
Hi David. I am slow at responding, and for that I apologize. Yes, I still have Axle. He is a 9 year old active puppy who keeps me moving. I'm glad that Popcorn enjoys his adventures with you. It is so good to have a canine companion who enjoys going along. We have just had a record breaking blizzard here and so walking Axle has been a real challenge. He doesn't really enjoy the cold and snow, but we manage. Our neighbor's dog however, loves the deep snow and can be seen leaping off of the porch into high drifts and then reappearing in another part of the yard! It is quite entertaining to say the least. I look forward to your next posts, wherever and whatever they may be.
DeleteSorry Ann, I missed your reply. The snow storms you've been having sound awful and we've just been seeing the terrible fires around LA. You seem to get extremes of weather. Good to hear you still have Axle, David & Poocorn.
DeleteI agree with Ann about your sunrise, David. Your header photos are always magnificent! I also loved your photos on this post. That old tractor appeals to me especially. What a lovely old thing! I confess to having a bit of a thing about tractors. The colours of the other implements are also very appealing. Such a varied collection! It’s lovely to hear Popcorn goes everywhere with you, too. Keep well, David. All the best, Val.
ReplyDeleteHi Val, thanks for commenting. Living in an agricultural area I too love tractors and of course anything brightly coloured and shiny gets my attention. So the display of old farm implements caught my eye.
ReplyDeleteNot much photography for me for a while, the weather has been very grim with a succession of storms which, I'm sure, when they've passed us on their way east end up where you are.
Take care Val, David & Popcorn.
