Cleethorpes cvisitors.

During the recent "better weather" Popcorn & I had a short walk around the Cleethorpes Pier area.  There were a lot of visitors enjoying some sunshine, ice cream plus fish & chips.

We parked in Cleethorpes Market Place (2 hours FOC)
This is Steels Corner House Fish & Chip Restaurant, very popular with both visitors and
locals.  Some say the best Fish & Chip shop in Cleethorpes but there are one or two that
are as good.  In my opinion.

Ice cream parlour and a café  next to our pier.

Amusement arcades at the Pier entrance and the "Land Train" which takes visitors to the
southern end of the resort.

Cleethorpes Pier, built in Victorian times and for a few years now, owned by PAPAS,
a Nationwide chain of fish & chip shops.

The arcade sign, not surprisingly called "The Mint"!

Ice cream, doughnuts and a view of the Ferris wheel in this shot along the prom.

the tide was on it's way out in this beach level view of our pier.

Another ice cream shop to the right of the pier entrance.

Papas is a takeaway as well as a seated restaurant. I've not tried their fish & chips
so can't comment on them.

A view looking south along the prom with "The Point", apartment block in the distance.

The open topped bus which operates in the holiday season, not fully open as the front section
to the upper deck is covered.  Belt & braces"!

All photo's taken on the 7th April 2025, late afternoon.

Nikon Z6ii plus 24 - 120mm lens.

  1. Such vivid colours, David. I can see why you love colour and brightness when your home town is so full of it. It looks as if everyone was enjoying the balmy weather. I hope it keeps returning! I am so enjoying the sunny days. We had a couole of grey, rainy days this last week, which were very welcome to the farmers, I know, but I’m delighted to see the sun again. Keep taking your lovely photos and catch plenty of sun when it’s available. It’s so good for us!

    1. Thanks for your lovely comments Val, I'm pleased you enjoyed the pics. I don't enhance or boost the colours, in fact my current Nikon camera and my Olympus equipment before tends to do that so I often calm things down a bit when processing. We've not had any significant rain for quite a while now, I'm having to water my garden almost daily at the moment. Most of my plants are in containers I know, but it's still Only April! I shouldn't complain, we are forecast a few days of mid 20 degrees weather starting tomorrow. I hope you get that too. Take care, David and Popcorn.

    1. Thank you Mike, it half term and we had lots of visitors. Great weather just now, sunshine and 22 degrees today and set to continue for next few days. I dare say you've been getting higher temperatures in Cornwall but 22 degrees is just right for me. Take care Mike, David and Popcorn.
