A walk along Cleethorpes Promenade.

As residents of the seaside resort of Cleethorpes, Popcorn regularly walk along our Promenade and seafront.  I've posted many pictures from here before, but on this walk I tried to include a few different views and items of interest.

Ross Castle, a Victorian Folly built in 1885 for the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire
Railway Company.  The arrival of the railway brought thousands of holiday makes to
Cleethorpes and it became a favourite holiday destination for the industrial workers of South
Yorkshire and beyond.

The tide was coming in but with hardly a ripple on the water.

Our newly built RNLI Lifeboat Station.  Now complete and in service.  It was open to the public
recently and, of course, Popcorn & I went inside inside to photograph it and the two Lifeboats.
It was very busy, lots of visitors looking around and the photo's I got were the last in my project
of photographing the construction of the station, from the 1st piles being driven in to the Open
Day of the finished project.  I now have to go through them all, but I will be posting the set of
photo's here on my blog in the future.

Some pics looking toward the sun and the south end of the resort.

Plenty of people out for a stroll.

This lady had found a quiet place in one of the Victorian Shelters.
I did get her permission to take & use this picture.

Wherever you go there seems to be roadworks.

View from the Victorian Shelter.

One of the council gardeners watering the flower beds, they've suffered this year.

A brand new bus shelter!  I thought I'd get a pic of it before someone "decorates" it.

You may wonder why I photographed a Bus, the next photo will explain.

I was about to take this view of folk enjoying the sunshine at the café when the bus
stopped at the bus stop right in front!

A local pub and micro brewery.

Another view out along the beach.

This is our Memorial Gate, built to commemorate all the Armed Forces and at the centre of
our annual Armed Forces Day.  Cleethorpes was chosen to host the National Armed Forces
Day celebrations this year, as it was in 2016.
