Christmas Carol Service.

Popcorn & I attended a Carol  Service a few days before Christmas at St. Peters Church, Ashby Cum Fenby.  A village we visit often.  The community there has welcomed and embraced us.

St. Peters Church, Ashby Cum Fenby.

We arrived early to take photo's before other folk arrived.

The church was beautifully decorated for the service.

A memorial decorated.

Each window had decorations.

Refreshments for after the service.

A general view of the church, people were arriving now.

After the service folk mingled about having minced pies, Stolen cake & mulled wine.

We left and I took this from outside.

  2. Lovely photos of a beautiful church and service, David. I would love to go to one myself, but we do not have such services in any of the churches near us. Your photos make it look warm, embracing and lovely. I love your new cover picture. It’s a beautiful painting.

  4. Hi David. The first comment isn’t mine, so I guess it is truly an anonymous reader. I am so happy to finally see one of Carole’s wonderful paintings! It is marvelous. As you feel like it, I hope you will share more of her work. The church photos are really lovely and I can imagine it was a very nice service as well, and I’m glad to hear that everyone was pleasant and welcoming. Wishing you all the best as usual, Ann.

  5. Hi Ann, I'm pleased you enjoyed seeing Carole's painting on my header picture. Carole had some of her paintings hung around the house and we used to change the one in our dining room to match the four seasons. I have kept up this tradition and when I changed the Autumn painting for this Winter one I photographed it to use as my blog header pic. I'll continue to do this and perhaps put one into a post occasionally. David and Popcorn.
