The River Head, Louth.

The River Head area of Louth has undergone a lot of renovations in recent years.  The area was once the place where barges coming along the Louth Navigation Canal unloaded their goods, the canal is now no longer navigable and most locks have fallen into disuse and become derelict.  The only activity on the canal now is angling.

Once a wharfeside warehouse where the barges would get unload.  The upper loading gantry where the crane would be located can still be clearly seen.

The Louth Canal finishes here.
