Last post before Christmas.

I've "bin" out on one of my daily walks around the area I live in at Cleethorpes.

Not far from our house is this deep excavation for renewal of water supply pipes.

Looking across the road the low sunlight lit up the clouds on a the cold frosty day.

Pennells Garden Centre, all decked out with Christmas items.

Along the main road the trees caught the low winter sunlight & I saw a dog walker.

Frosted leaves on the grass verge.

Parallel to the main road is a private road for the houses along there and it was "bin day",
hence my cryptic title to this post.

The men were quite amused and I suspect puzzled that I should want to photograph them.

Further along we have a car wash at what was formerly a petrol station.

Staffed mainly by Polish workers, they do a good job, I take my car there.

It's a popular path for joggers, cyclists & walkers.

Then I met up with the men emptying the bins in a little complex of houses where a
footpath runs through.

I noticed the wagon driver had spotted me in his rear view mirror.

A quick word with the driver and he was happy to have his photo taken and give me a smile.

There's a trend just now to decorate post boxes with
knitted Christmas decorations.

This one's outside the local Post Office.

I hope you all enjoy Christmas and have a Happy New Year.

Panasonic TZ100 compact camera, the las two taken on my mobile 'phone.

  1. Agh! I'm late again, David. I enjoyed this post very much. You've really 'bin' at it, haven't you? I love all the colours of the bins, roadworks, pipes and trucks. As for the Christmas decorations on the post box, how delightful! It looks as if it was very frosty up there too. It was a real freezer here. Down to minus 11c last Saturday. Still sunshine and frost are better than the miserable rain we've had since.

  3. Hello David, I love the bin men photos! Something you don't see very often, visually interesting & very deserving as a subject matter. Those water pipes look pretty serious. I spotted a knitted nativity scene on a post box t'other day. I didn't realise it was a thing. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Lulu :) x
