A few more Circus Pictures. (After Dark)

These pictures were taken tonight, well after dark, to show the circus lights and the searchlights.

I took quite a few but reduced them down to these four for the blog.

For any photographers interested, I took these on my Panasonic G6 camera with an Olympus 14-42 EZ lens at f4.3 @ 1/20th sec with the camera set to "Intelligent Auto".  This gave me an ASA setting of 3200.      (For younger people that's ISO, same thing.)
I used this set-up to get a reasonable shutter speed to freeze the sweep of the search lights which arched from left to right.

The Circus is in Town.

Russells Circus visits Cleethorpes every year at this time and these pictures were taken this evening as the light faded.
See how the sky darkens and the colours get stronger.

Manchester. (The final set)

The first pictures here were taken inside the Lowry Centre which houses paintings by the artist L. S. Lowry.
Lowry was well known for his paintings depicting the hard times and life of the north of England.

The man in the raincoat is Lowry.
Laurence Stephen Lowry, born 1st November 1887 and died 23rd February 1976.
He painted industrial and social scenes around the Pendlebury and Salford areas in Lancashire.

These two ladies look at a portrait of the famous man.

The art works on this wall were by current artists in the style of Lowry.

Almost time to leave, I wanted a figure in the scene as a silhouette.  Naturally, having been
a busy area with people coming and going earlier, it now became devoid of any form of human
life!  So I delegated number 1 son Michael to do the honours for me.

Back outside the Lowry.

We have a friend (Graham) who loves busses. Someone has to I suppose.  So I took this for
Graham but didn't realise this arm had come into the picture also.  Actually, I quite like it.

Back on the tram to get to our train home.

Manchester. (Set 3 of 4)

I enjoyed this area of Manchester as it had some really interesting modern architecture.

Although we did get some sunshine, mostly it was quite dramatic skies like this.

This building was clad in a bronze coloured reflective panels, great for reflections.

The building on the left is the Lowry Centre named after the famous artist L. S. Lowry.
