Following on from my last post, today Popcorn & I went to see an art installation on Cleethorpes Beach promoted and supported by many groups including La Cona.
Today was typical Bank Holiday weather. Overcast, sunny at times, windy with a threat of rain!

The beach area near the new (almost completed) RNLI Lifeboat Station was a blaze of colour from hundreds of flag pennants. |

Each flag represented a beach or part of the UK coastline and the project was to promote our appreciation and enjoyment of the sea & coast. |

Another view from further out on the beach showing the our new Lifeboat Station and also "The Point", an apartment block up on a promontory called "High Cliff". (Not very high at all!) |

The flags continued along the beach and made a colourful display on a sometimes dull day. |

It was VERY WINDY! Nikon Z6ii plus 24 - 120 lens. |
David, I can almost feel that wind. Your photos really show how windy it was. Amazing. I love the feeling of movement and the colour. I'm also impressed at the extent of the beach. It really is phenomenal. As for the concept, it's a lovely idea to celebrate Britain's coast and beaches. If it weren't for the weather, the Uk would be an ideal holiday destination!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting Val, it was quite an impressive event. Of course, the textures, shapes and colours were right up my street!!
DeleteDavid and Popcorn.
Wonderful photos that bring the Magic to the area. The dark clouds add a special something. As always a pleasure to visit your blog. All good wishes.
DeleteThanks Mike, good to hear from you and hope you're well. David and Popcorn.
