La Cuna Community Arts Project.

La Cuna on the Kingsway, Cleethorpes, is a community Arts Project, with funding from the National Lottery.  It aims to promote crafts, community, cycling and music.  Two of the ladies who organise the activities, Caroline & Louise allowed me in to take photographs of the work on display.

For more information, they can be found on Facebook.

La Cuna is directly opposite Brighton Street slipway on Cleethorpes seafront.

A sign that Popcorn was pleased to see.

A view inside, showing the wide range of craft and arts activities.

Good advice.

Some art work using a variety of upcycled materials.

I was particularly attracted to this manikin head.

Covered by papier Mache.

Looking out from the shop, the new RNLI station, almost complete now.

Louise doing some crochet work.

Another manikin head.

  1. That looks like a lovely place to browse, David. What a lovely initiative too. I also liked the mannikin heads and the sign on the door. But I wondered about the cycling part of their support. Do they mean ‘biking’ type cycling or the cycling of materials as in recycling?

    1. Hi Val, good spot. A typing error on my part, recycling is what I meant to say. Thanks for dropping by, I'll try to do better! Ha, ha!!

    3. By the way, I’ve just read a novel said in Louth and environs and, thanks to your photos, I could picture it all. :)

  2. What an interesting post, there must be crafts to please everyone. I know my wife like to wander around these crafts. She used to do lots of dressmaking and other crafts. Interesting photos David.
