(More) Summer flowers. Leaf Patterns.

Not just flower pics, but a variety of leaf patterns & shapes + one small flower.

Nasturtium leaf, backlit by the morning sun.

A single Campanula flower.  We have large carpets of this pretty flower,
it's very easy to propagate and spreads freely.  We've had them for many
years but this year, for the first time, our tortoise Joey took a liking for the flowers
and enjoys eating them.  I've checked with the Tortoise Society and they are
perfectly safe and ok for them to eat.

The leaf of the "Illumination Trailing"  Begonia.

Beech leaf, backlit.  We have a Beach hedge and all the new leaves have opened.

This + the previous Beech leaf was photographed against the midday sun.

This last Beech leaf was photographed against late evening sun, hence
the different colour temperature.

  1. I like to see beech hedges. It's surprising the detail on leaves - especially the nasturtium. All in all makes an interesting set of photos.
Very dark here, more rain expected.

  3. Wow David! These are great photos with such fine details. I’ve always thought that purple and bright green make wonderful companions and you’ve proven it so. The lighting is beautiful on all the shots, and it reminds me that a simple leaf can be a magnificent thing!

    1. Thank you Ann, I keep thinking there are no more photo's to be had from my garden but, if nothing else comes from this pandemic, I've learnt to keep looking. 😊

    2. Isn’t that the truth! We are growing a bit weary here too and although restrictions are beginning to be lifted nothing feels very safe where crowds are concerned. We are able to take drives but after so long everything starts to look the same. I’m finding my patience running thin these days but travel will likely be out of the question for awhile. Take care and enjoy the garden!
