Popcorn & I had a walk along the Fitties before Christmas. It was a very drab, windy sort of day and quite cold, I took a few photo's on my mobile phone. Not many people out and quite a contrast to the hot, sunny days of summer when our visitors enjoyed the beach and sea last summer.

Early afternoon with a hint of sun creeping below the clouds in the distance. |

It was low tide, my favourite time as the contours of the beach can be seen where the water has swirled around carving out the channels and building sandbanks. |

In the distance is "Northcotes Point". |

Here you can see the creek, it changes it's shape and position with each tide. |

A couple of hardy locals out walking their dog. Photo's taken on my mobile phone. |
In spite of the cold, it is still a beautiful landscape and seascape, and the photos are lovely. I happen to like the muted, natural colors of a grey, wintry day but I’m the first to admit that I need sun and blue skies! The creek seems to meander forever. You have done a great job of capturing the stillness of a winter’s day. Beautiful photos. We’ve had a big blizzard that brought a foot of snow but it has been impossible to get outside for some photos. As the roads are cleared, it won’t look as pretty with the big piles of ice and snow. Best wished from Ann.
ReplyDeleteHello Ann, thanks for your comments. Yes, I agree with you, the colours are very pleasing on a winters day.
DeleteYour snow sounds dramatic, we hardly get any snow on our little bit of the east coast. The last significant amount was in 2018 when we had blizzards straight from eastern Europe. David and Popcorn
I agree with Ann. It may have been cold but the colours and textures, the shapes and creeks, all make these beautiful photos, David. The day may have seemed drab but your photos show the scenery as it is. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Val, it was nice to have a brisk walk along the beach but boy, was it cold! Take care, David & Popcorn
