"Oh I do like to be beside the seaside"
More from Lincolnshire's Seaside Coast.
Still at Chapel Saint Leonards, a row of beach huts caught my attention.
Met a "local" coming down the slope! |
Another local, hardy soul. |

I've always been intrigued by beach huts like this and I know they are precious to those who own them, but I can't imagine being there on a perfect summer's day with crowds of people around. They do make excellent subjects to photograph and you've done a wonderful job of capturing them on a very beautiful day. I'm sure the views are lovely any time of the year. The hardy local is probably longing for spring!
ReplyDeleteBeach nuts like these are much sought after as the planning authorities won't allow any more to built or sited. There's a waiting list to buy existing examples and they command high
Deleteprices.
I don't understand the attraction for them, other than to photograph them.
We often visit friends in the Bournemouth area. There are lots of beach huts at nearby Mudeford - one of which was sold for #285,000 - and it was only 10 feet by 6 feet! I like to see them, they remind me of times gone by. Great photos David.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, yes they can be very over priced.
DeleteI like the way you've processed these. Especially the top one. You had a good day for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane, the light was super that day but boy was it cold! I was pleased with processing, as you may know I really enjoy bold colour and when I'd finished I thought the first pic (that you mention) had a look of Martin Pat about it. Probably my wishful thinking?
ReplyDeletePredictive text......gr! Who wants it? I meant of course Parr not Pat. ðŸ˜
