Barrow Haven.

Barrow Haven is a Hamlet & small port in North Lincolnshire. It was once the site of a ferry taking people across the Humber Estuary to Kingston Upon Hull.  It continues as a port with a railway station on the Barton to Cleethorpes Community Line.

Before we got to the Haven we passed through the residential area of Barrow Haven.

Wisteria on an old wall.

The railway station, such as it is, at Barrow Haven.

The railway station at Barrow Haven consists of just a short platform and a small passenger
shelter.  The line is part of the Barton to Cleethorpes Community Line.

We visited on a Sunday.....no trains running on that day!

The rail line passes over the bridge spanning the Haven.

We crossed the bridge & went onto the Haven to photograph the boats.

1st view of the boats on the water.

The tide began to flow in creating nice ripples on the water.

Looking inland, back to the railway bridge spanning the Haven.

We met some people walking their dog.

The point where the Haven meets the Humber Estuary, the far bank is the
Yorkshire side of the Estuary and Kingston Upon Hull.

A storage unit on the side of the Haven, beyond this was the dock area and, because it was
a Sunday we ventured into it.  Pictures from there on a future post.

  2. I really enjoy seeing this series of great photos. It looks like an interesting area to explore and of course I love seeing the boats. Those shots are really wonderful with all of the great details and composed so artistically. I’m envious of that wisteria. Ours has only 2 blossoms this year so far!
