Rainy Days & Tuesdays.

Well, most of Britain is experiencing heavy, prolonged rain and localised flooding & here in Lincolnshire we haven't escaped it either
The Cricket world Cup game is rained off & Suzi flatly refuses to go out for her walk (she hates her raincoat).  So....what to do?  Well, if rain has stopped play at the cricket there's no need to let it ruin the whole day so I photographed it!  Actually, I photographed the rain running down our patio door (from the inside of course) and "fiddled" with the pics to make a blog post.

  1. I can tell that your garden is lovely under any conditions and I think you've made a beautiful collection of abstracts here! Well done! The central US has been hammered by rains and floods all spring, making this the rainiest May in 125 years. It sure does get old, so I'm looking forward to sunshine. Great post, David! You are very creative.

  2. What great photos! At the moment it has stopped raining here, but not sure for how long - plus it's quite cold. It's not much like June. Back to your photos, you have created some beauties.

    1. We're ok here thank you Mike. We have a lot of standing water but no houses flooded, as far as I know. The problem areas are where the rivers are, the Lincolnshire Wolds & hills are not like the Pennines but they collect an enormous amount of water which finds it's way down to the towns via the rivers and streams. Places like Boston, Lincoln & Louth can often be flooded. But rarely us on the north east coast of Lincolnshire, at least not from heavy rain.
We start to worry when a high winter tide combines with low pressure and gales from the north east which cause a tidal surge. The last one was in December 2013 when Hull and surrounding areas where flooded. I have to smile when I hear people saying that global warming is exagerated, floods, tidal surges & excessive gales are common place now.
Thanks for your concern but,.on this occasion, we're ok. 😀
