Postcards from Lincoln Steam & Vintage Festival.

A few images taken at the Lincoln "Steam & Vintage Rally, August 2015.  I took a lot of pictures that day but I always gravitate to the classic & vintage road vehicles.  Here are just a few of my favourites.

This beast was as noisey and fearsome as it looked.

Steam Lorry.

Another steam lorry.

I have a granddauighter Called Katie......

Spotted on a lorry door.

An "Indian" motor cycle at the Wall of death Show.

Vintage Charabancs.

This one was once in service from the market town of Caistor, Lincolnshire.

  1. Haven't heard the word Charabancs for a long time, well since a kid I guess. From west London we'd take a coach up to Wallsend, Northumberland to see relations - this was where my mother was born. The journey took 12 hours back then - and no service stations!

Great set of photos David, love the old vehicles.

  2. Thank you for all your comments today on this & other posts. My Blog comments email alert isn't working just now (don't know why) so I might not pick them up straight away.
These old charabancs remind me of my Sunday school days when we went on our annual day out. We lived in the town and it was the once a year when we saw open farm fields and cows! It was usually to Hubbard's Hills and we thought we'd been on a very long journey, it's 15 miles from Cleethorpes! 😀 Happy days, until this lockdown it's been our favourite place to go for dog walks.
    Keep safe. 😊
